We would like to welcome you to Rothwell Recipes!  These new posts will feature healthy, tasty recipes that our coaches and members enjoy.  Feel free to substitute ingredients to suit your diet and tastes.  As always, consult a doctor or nutritionist before beginning any diet and/or exercise program.

Today’s recipe is sure to cure your sweet tooth without the added sugar and fat of real carrot cake. Refuel after a workout with this sweet blend of protein, fruits and veggies.

Carrot Cake Protein Shake

Ingredients:

Scoop     Vanilla protein powder (we like Garden of Life’s Raw Meal in Vanilla Chai)

1             Frozen banana

2             Carrots, shredded

8 oz.        Almond milk

1/2 tsp.    Vanilla

5 drops    Liquid stevia, or sweetener of choice

dash        Apple Pie spice

 

Directions:

Blend all ingredients in a Vitamix, or other high-powered blender/food processor.

Optional: top with walnuts, add splash of caramel coffee cream, add spinach, add serving of maca powder, etc.
