Congratulations Ben on your victory over Alistair Overeem!
Ben defeated Overeem at UFC Fight Night 50 Friday September 5 making his record 34-9, with 20 wins via Knockout/TKO.
Overeem was staggered by a right uppercut from Rothwell before a right hand clipped his temple. Overeem fell to his knees as Rothwell pounced and landed more strikes until referee Keith Peterson intervened. The fight was called off at the 2:19 mark of the first round.
In the wake of his win, Rothwell, an underdog leading into the fight, did a victory dance and said “you just witnessed what happens when you believe in yourself. I am now here to make my way to the title. It is time.”
