qMember Spotlight: Taylor

“Initially, walking through the doors of Rothwell I was a bit intimidated and definitely unsure of what I was getting myself into. I was one of the only girls and had very little experience in martial arts. After the trial class, I felt pretty good about my basics and got a chance to witness how close-knit everyone was. It was inspiring to see the support, motivation, and respect that resonated throughout the gym…which is exactly what made my decision to join an easy one. I wasn’t sure where this road would take me but after being a member for about 6 months now, I can honestly say that it was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.    

When I started Rothwell MMA, I was at my heaviest weight and going through a rough transition period in my life. I originally started kickboxing classes and expanded to Kick Fit and Yoga in hopes of getting in better shape, releasing some stress, and getting my life back on track. I am proud to say I’ve lost 15 lbs. so far, but more importantly I feel like I am overall a happier, healthier, and stronger version of myself.  

I’ve learned a great deal since I began my membership and have had so much fun doing so. It makes me hungry to continue developing my skills and my understanding of the world of martial arts. I can’t say if I will ever fight a real fight but I train with that intention because Ben and the instructors inspire me to. I found a home here at Rothwell and I feel honored to be a part of such an amazing facility and family. I’m ecstatic to continue my journey!”
