In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, basic yet effective techniques are easy to learn. Empower yourself with the escape, defensive, and offensive techniques needed to prevent someone from harming you. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a sport that develops strength, endurance, balance, coordination, confidence, and self-control.
Beginner BJJ welcomes all adults (14 yrs +), male or female, of any body type and conditioning level. This is for beginners with no experience,starting at square one. A great class for those who may be intimidated by the mixed level class! Rothwell teaches proper breathing techniques, body movement, basic positions, and the foundations of BJJ. There is no sparring or rolling, only technique, in this beginner class. After some time in this Beginner BJJ class, you will be prepared to advance into the mixed level BJJ class. Then, in the mixed level BJJ class with black belts Luiz and Thiago, you will learn submissions, defenses, take downs, restraint and escape techniques.
